Weddings, photographed after dark.
I photograph weddings the way they actually feel — low light, long shadows, the half-second before everyone notices the camera. Moody, elegant, and entirely unposed where it counts.
Selected work
Recent weddings
A wedding day is not a photo shoot with a ceremony in the middle. It's a long, moving, badly-lit, wonderful thing — and the pictures that matter are usually the ones nobody planned. Below are a few recent days, shot start to finish.
Full galleries are shared privately with each couple. If you'd like to see a complete day from start to finish — getting ready through last dance — just ask and I'll send a few over.
How it works
My approach
I work quietly and mostly in available light. That means no flash firing through your vows, no stopping the room to arrange people, no hour-long portrait session that pulls you away from your own party. What it does mean is that I need to know the light in your venue before the day arrives — which is why every booking starts with a walkthrough.
The result is a set of photographs that look like the day you remember rather than the day a photographer staged. Dark rooms stay dark. Candles stay warm. The grain and the shadows are part of the picture, not a problem to be fixed.
What's included in every collection
- A pre-wedding walkthrough We visit your venue together, or I go alone if you're out of town, and I map the light through the day — where it lands at 4pm, where it dies at 8pm, which corners need a different plan.
- Full-day documentary coverage Getting ready through the last dance, with no fixed number of hours and no shot list you have to police. I stay until the story is finished.
- A short portrait window Twenty to thirty minutes, once, timed to the best light of the day. Not a two-hour production. Enough for the photographs your family will frame.
- Hand-edited photographs Every image is graded individually — no batch presets. Delivered in a private online gallery you can share, download from, and order prints through.
- A second photographer, when it helps For larger venues or two simultaneous locations, I bring a second shooter so nothing gets missed. We'll decide together whether your day needs one.
From enquiry to album
What happens next
Most couples book eight to fourteen months out. Here's the shape of it, so you know what you're saying yes to.
-
You get in touch
Tell me your date, your venue if you have one, and roughly what you want the day to feel like. I'll reply within two business days with availability and my full pricing.
-
We meet
A call or a coffee. I want to hear how you met and what you're nervous about. You should leave knowing whether you'd want me in the room on the day — that matters more than the portfolio.
-
We walk the venue
Once your venue is confirmed, we visit together. I build a light plan for the day and we talk through the timeline so nothing important lands in a dark corner.
-
Your wedding day
I arrive early, stay quiet, and photograph what happens. You don't manage me. You don't feed me a shot list. You get married.
-
Your photographs
A preview within a week, the full gallery within six to eight weeks, hand-edited and delivered privately. Albums and prints are available after that, at your pace.
About
Behind the camera
I'm [Your Name], a wedding photographer based in Toronto. I've been photographing weddings for [number] years, mostly across the city and the surrounding countryside — [venue type] barns, downtown hotels, [neighbourhood] lofts, and a lot of very beautiful, very badly lit rooms.
I came to weddings from [background], which is probably why I care more about what a photograph feels like than whether everyone is looking at the camera. My favourite frame from any wedding is almost never the one the couple asked for.
When I'm not working I'm [personal detail]. I shoot on [camera system] and I edit everything myself.
